“Biodiversity Conservation Awareness Campaign in schools across Grenada,” an initiative being implemented in collaboration with the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) to highlight the important link between renewable energy and biodiversity conservation. Through this campaign, students will learn how renewable energy reduces greenhouse gas emissions and mitigates climate change, thereby protecting Grenada’s rich biodiversity and the delicate species vulnerable to environmental changes. As part of the campaign, each participating school will receive an electronic copy of the Grenada Biodiversity 101 magazine, an educational resource designed to increase awareness and appreciation of Grenada’s unique ecosystems. The magazine was developed by intern Ms. Alyssa White, a graduate of The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, with financial support from Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the Fonds Français pour l’Environnement Mondial (FFEM) through the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) under the Caribbean Regional Architecture for Biodiversity (CRAB) Project.
